There is now a mailbox with our names on it, in Munich.

The Keys to our Apartment

Today the lease was signed, the walk through was done and now the “official” handover is complete.

We are tenants!

I am both excited and nervous. Even though living in a hotel sucks ass, everything here is taken care of for us. Now we are on fully our own. Kinda scary.

Our internet is being turned on this coming Tuesday so we will be without our beloved WWW, with the exception of our cell phones, for almost two days (gasp!). Actually, no, I can connect through my cell phone , which is how I am connected now because the internet in this hotel is fucking retarded…

So that is the good news. That bad new is that we got word that our car was not allowed through customs.Big fat UGH. I was told to provide customs with the previous years registration and insurance to show that the car was in use by us for the 6 months prior to the move. WELL, I did provide those things, but I put them in the glove box of the car, assuming customs would check the car and verify that it is actually the car in the paperwork..WELL, apparently 99% of the time, they don’t even open the crate. They just trust what’s in the paperwork handed to them and so now we have a dilemma on our hands. The paperwork is in the car, which is in the crate, which they wont open, ay-yay-yay… Fortunately, I had the registration from 2008-2009 on hand and was able to print the insurance policy online and fax it over but they still may want to see last years reg 2009-2010, which wont be impossible to get but a  headache nonetheless.

So here it is, Friday afternoon, and I am basically waiting for an email from our shipping agent informing me as to whether or not customs will accept the documents I sent over yesterday…

…still waiting.

Oh well, we are one step closer to normalcy. That alone is worth at least one or ten stiff cocktails.

Tschuss xx

haha..the Eurovision songcontest…..glad you see it ! For us it’s a very long tradition (first was in 1956 !!) about ten years ago , all the Eastblock country’s ( free of communism now) joined in. And guess what…they all vote for their neighbourcountries…haha..so predictable. Greece allway’s give max points to Cyprus and vice versa…also,in the early years it was an obligation to sing in your native language. Few years ago you could choose the language you wanted. Wich means that the majority choose English..sometimes it ‘s hilarious , some bielorussian chick pretending to sing english words but sounds like a castrated whale…haha. But yeah, it’s a tradition. We did well this year, second place most of the time, but ended at place 6. So next year it’s the krautland contest…..the song is pretty good tough….
The fact that we voted for Greece is because there are lots of greeck expats in Belgium, so they vote for greece, just like there are 4.000.000 Turks in Germany, and they also vote for Turkey.( I vote for turkey at christmas…..whahwhawhahhhhhahahah)
So Colleen, this was your first expierience with a European tradition. Next will be the world cup !!
(ps, that guy from Israel was good !)
Any news about your car yet??

Propably it isn’t a wise decision to have a Israeli flag as a doorcarpet…? Make sure no palestinians live in the same building…..that also counts for the Stars and Stripes….why don’t you use a Belgian flag instead…hahaha..or the Swiss flag..because it’s neutral !

You’re so right about the French. That’s why we have^problems with them in My country. They are language-imperialists. They refuse to speak or learn another language, because they think French is superior to all other languages.Fuck them . I do speak French and I like it, but i don’t like their mentality.

A lady arrived at the Madras airport after spending 36 hours in transit.

She was fully exhausted after such a long trip with her 6 young kids.

Collecting many suitcases, the family entered the cramped customs area.

A young customs official watched our entourage in disbelief, “Ma’am,” he said, “do all these children and this luggage belong to you?”

“Yes, sir,” the lady said with a sigh. “They’re all mine.”

The customs agent began his interrogation “Ma’am, do you have any weapons, contraband or illegal drugs in your possession?”

“Sir,” she calmly answered, “if I’d had any of those items, I would have used them by now.”
