Yay! Tonight my friend and I are going to Cyrus! I cannot wait!.

Last night husband and I went to see The Duchess, which I thought was great. I am a HUGE period film junky. The big hair, big dresses, fancy boys, debauchery, gluttony.. ah yes. The best part though, was that the movie theatre has a FULL BAR. So basically, how it works is this:

you walk in to theatre. You go to counter and order your tickets, which is when they ask if you would like to be on the “balcony” or in the “orchestra”. Orchestra is main seating for boring people.. but the balcony is absolutely magical: it has a full bar/lounge. Hear that. So, after learning it has a full bar..and after selecting to sit there, you get to choose your seats on the screen. Another plus.

After getting your balcony tickets, you take the escalator upstairs and make a left, directly into the bar. Yes, you must pass through the FULL bar upon entering the balcony area. Gorgeous idea. Ok, so then you go to the bar and order a drink. A vodka soda perhaps, IN AN ACTUAL GLASS- not a plastic number.. a Sheppards pour (meaning stiff- had to explain that one),tip the bartender handsomely, for the 20 count pour, and then you can either A: sit at one of the tables in the lounge or B: wander off into the theatre where the chairs are like lazy boys and there are cocktail tables, with holders, and pillowy arm rests in between every two seats. (this is a 2 seater arrangement for the most part)… the best part is that the bar is open throughout the movie. So if your drink runs out, you can step outside the door and get a refill.

I was in awe. Whomever came up with this idea is my hero. You have to see it to believe it. It’s like the best ever. Note: I believe the bar is only open thrs fri sat..and maybe sun.
